Fallout 3 Gets Graphic update

Fallout 3’s recent patch, ostensibly to prepare the game for the arrival of The Pitt downloadable content, also features a newly-noticed bonus for Microsoft Xbox 360 owners – a graphical update restores “specular” lighting effects to gamers on that console.

Now, Digital Foundry definitely puts the Xbox 360 version of Fallout 3 ahead of the PS3 version as the latest update restores specular light mapping to monsters and characters (Digital Foundry points out that the lower-quality textures are still there though). Plus, of course, Fallout 3 on the Xbox 360 gets the downloadable content – the PS3 doesn’t.

THQ announced that Red Faction: Guerilla will now hit European stores one week earlier than the original June 12th release date.

The new release date of June 5th means that Europeans will now get a chance to play the title the same week as North America who see it on June 2nd.

As a reminder as well, don't forget to sample the Red Faction: Guerilla demo that is now available for download on the Xbox Live Marketplace.

Red Faction: Guerilla is available on June 2nd and June 5th in North America and Europe respectively.

Xbox 360 Profits Rise but Revenue Falls
Sales of the Microsoft Xbox 360 console have pushed up profits for Microsoft’s games division by 16 per cent in the last three months. But the company’s revenues overall have dropped by six per cent compared to 2008, the first time revenue has dropped in 23 years of being a publicly listed company.

Despite new fears over its reliability, Microsoft shipped 1.7 million Xbox 360 consoles to stores in the three months up to 31 March according to figures released by Microsoft. Last year it only shipped 1.3 million Xbox 360s.

this isnt in the main game tho, you can only use him in bonus stuff

I don't know how reliable this source is but apparatly the Joker is not exclusive and will be DLC for the 360 version.

When Microsoft ran their Deal of the Week for Braid (the first DotW) at a discounted 800MSP, many people jumped at the chance. Unfortunately, due to some technical glitch, there was no discount and everyone was charged the full price of 1200MSP.

Well, you should be receiving an e-mail and a refund soon if you were hit by this error, and as an added bonus, Microsoft are giving an "oops, our bad" bonus of 100MSP.

So I have two bits of news here.

Firstly Wet has been picked up by Bethesda and it will be released in Autumn. Link

Secondly there are new images of Uncharted 2 multiplayer. Link

Metal Gear Solid: Rising is coming to Xbox 360 and PS3 at some point this year/next year, set around Raiden.
Xbox gets a motion camera, as well as a few games and dashboard support for it.
Alan Wake gameplay was shown, looks good.

Splinter Cell: Conviction demo'd, looks very good, and has evolved a lot since we last saw it.

Apparently it's not exclusive. No doubt it'll come to PS3 at some point though, if it is exclusive, it'll only be for a while. Modern Warfare 2 looks awesome too.

If it isn't exclusive I'll delay my 360 purchase tbh.
