Are fans of Onimusha: Dawn Of Dreams on here? I'm playing through it for the first time in years, and I'm loving it all over again. It's one of those little gems that got lost trough the years, but I spotted it again lately and had to buy it. I've barely been able to turn my PS2 off since.

Anybody else played this?

Yip, that's the reaction I usually get when I mention this game to folks, lol. It seems fairly low key, but it's a fantastic game.

It's kinda like an action based RPG. It's a huge epic game based back in 17th century japan. You play as a selection of characters who band together to put a stop to an evil overlord who is raising an army of demons with the intent of world domination. Sounds cheesy as all hell, but it's an epic game.

Here is a link to it's page on gamespot.com:

Yeah, it's a huge amount of fun, and well worth checking out if you can find it anywhere. The action is pretty intense, and at times play similar to the swordplay in the Devil May Cry series. It also features those typically cheesy Capcom voice-overs that seem to be the norm at this stage, lol.

I've played through one or two of the other Onimusha games and they didn't really do much for me, but for some reason I love Dawn Of Dreams.

I read a review for this in PSW and thought it sounded quite good but it was one of those games I never got round to picking up. I might get now though, since your saying it's good. Won't be for a while though.

It doesn't seem to be very well known, and most people who have heard of it have never played it. This seems odd, because it got pretty good reviews (from what I can find online), and it's a very enjoyable game, so it just seems weird that it's so low key.

Yeah a lot of the best games are really underrated. Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath, Shadow of the Colossus, Okami etc

I guess that is true. I've heard Shadow Of The Colossus has to be played to be believed. I've never gotten around to playing it though. I must keep an eye out for it.
